Postdoctoral associate
Griffith Lab, BE
Laura is a postdoctoral associate in Professor Linda Griffith’s lab developing microphysiological immune models of endometriosis. She obtained her Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Nanotechnology Engineering from the University of Waterloo (Ontario, Canada). She then pursued graduate studies at the University of Toronto, where she worked under the supervision of Professor Molly Shoichet. Her thesis focused on immunoengineering the Hodgkin lymphoma microenvironment through the design of an engineered hydrogel to better understand tumour-associated macrophage infiltration, which is associated with disease progression and poor survival. She is passionate about undergraduate mentorship and creating positive, collaborative learning environments with open communication. Laura welcomes all appointments, and will be particularly enthusiastic about scholarship/grad school applications, presentation prep, and figure/visual design. As a BE Comm Fellow, she is passionate about helping students develop confidence in science communication. In her free time, Laura cries over how cute her dog Chip is, while attempting to wrangle her wild beast, Wanda.
