Comm Lab Fellow
Carlos is a first-year graduate student in Mechanical Engineering working in the Device Research Lab (DRL) in heat transfer and nanotechnology. In his research, he works on the design of microfabricated devices for optimized energy transport with applications to waste heat recovery and thermal management.
He was born in Costa Rica where he obtained double major degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Physics and worked as an Applications Engineer at National Instruments before coming to MIT.
Beyond research, Carlos enjoys working out, hanging out with friends, watching TV, and cooking. He’s also interested in science communication to broader audiences.
